Enjoy a stargazing tour in the world-famous Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve.

Our stargazing tours take place near Twizel at the Pelennor Fields Lord of the Rings film location.

The tour caters for small groups and individual interests with a personal friendly atmosphere. Travel with us in the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve for world-class stargazing. We have exclusive nighttime access to a major film location for the Lord Of The Rings movies.

The Southern night sky and the Milky Way are the main “stars of the show.”

It is dark, it is quiet, relax in a chair with a warm blanket and experience the amazing sky above. Some people prefer to lie back (and really relax) on our insulated ground mats with a blanket and a cushion.

Laser torch and binoculars are used to enhance your viewing. Be entertained by our facts and stories, ask questions, tell your stories. Enjoy a warm drink while you sit quietly contemplating the awe-inspiring cosmos.

Private Group Tours and larger group tours are welcome by prior arrangement.

Transport from Twizel to Tekapo Stargazing Tours

We also provide transport for people booked at Tekapo Stargazing.
